William’s Walk & Run is a spectacular fundraising event named in honor of William Nichols who lost his battle with a brain tumor at the age of one. Now in its 11th year, this event celebrates the lives of children who are fighting brain tumor disease, as well as those who did not survive. Proceeds will support critical programs/services offered by the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children.

The 2009 Ride to Conquer Cancer
The 2009 Ride to Conquer Cancer was an incredible event with 3,500 riders who raised $14.5 M to support cancer research. I was very fortunate along with several of my very close friends to join the Princess Margaret Team from the Radiation Medicine Program. “The RMP Accelerators” team totaled 56 people and please note our elegant Elekta cycle jerseys!!
This was an event of incredible emotions, exhilarating highs after finishing the 210 km ride , ending with the wonderful view of Niagara Falls, To the humbling experience seeing cancer survivors overcome incredible odds to survive and ride even a young lady who lost her leg to cancer when she was a child and completed this ride with one leg for all those who didn’t make it.
Folks were fond of saying ” I would be delighted to become unemployed if the reason was we had found a CURE”
