According to an article from the Wednesday, June 20 online edition of This is Sussex, a group of 40 employees from Elekta’s Crawley facility took part in a London to Brighton 54-mile bike ride for the British Heart Foundation.
The past few months have been an exciting time for Crawley employees, as Elekta received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category in April. The Queen’s Award acknowledged continuous improvement in Elekta’s overseas sales, in addition to our steady growth of exports, calculated at 131 percent over the last six years.
Elekta’s Crawley facility is where the world’s first digital linear accelerator was manufactured. The company supports approximately 680 jobs in Crawley and 1,000 manufacturing jobs in the United Kingdom and an additional 3,000 globally.
